Terms of service
The terms for this product, and this product only.
Project Timebook holds its own terms. They are deliberately short, because the product deliberately does very little with your information.
1. These terms stand alone
Project Timebook is governed by these terms and nothing else. The terms of service published at leewyattcorp.com do not apply to this product. Where anything in the Lee Wyatt Corp terms would conflict with, extend, or reduce what is written on this page, this page wins for Project Timebook.
That includes the WyConnect sign-in. Signing in to Project Timebook with your Lee Wyatt Corp account does not bring the leewyattcorp.com terms across with it. WyConnect is used here purely to prove which licence belongs to you, and your use of Project Timebook is bound by these terms alone.
2. We do not save, collect, or use your data
This is the core of the agreement, so it is stated plainly:
- We do not save your data. Everything Project Timebook records about your work is written to an encrypted database file on your own computer. We hold no copy.
- We do not collect your data. The application has no analytics, no telemetry, no usage reporting, and no crash reports that carry your activity. It does not phone home to describe what you did.
- We do not use your data. We do not read it, sell it, share it, license it, mine it, or train anything on it. We could not, because it never reaches us.
Your captured activity means every window title, document name, file path, email subject, browser tab title, application name and timeline entry the product records. All of it stays on your machine.
3. The only data we hold is your login
The single piece of information we hold about you is the account you sign in with through WyConnect, and the licence state attached to it. In practice that is:
- The email address on your Lee Wyatt Corp account
- Whether that account holds a trial or a purchased licence, and the relevant dates
That is the complete list. We do not hold your projects, your clients, your hours, your documents, or a single line of your timeline.
4. The two things that do leave your computer, and only when you cause them
We would rather tell you exactly where the boundary is than claim a blanket that is not true.
Client Brief
Client Brief is an optional feature. It is off unless you press the button, every time, and it does nothing unless you supply your own OpenAI API key. When you use it, the request goes from your computer directly to OpenAI under your own key and your own account. It does not route through Lee Wyatt Corp and we never receive it.
What it sends is only the project, task and duration lines you have already filed, and it shows you that exact list before anything is sent. Raw captured activity, window titles, executable paths and calendar events cannot be included in that request, by design. If you never use Client Brief, nothing you record ever leaves your machine at all.
Buying a licence
If you buy a licence, the payment is handled by Stripe, and Stripe receives what it needs to take a payment. We do not receive or store your card details.
5. Your licence
A Project Timebook licence costs $300 once. It is a permanent licence to use the application, it does not expire, and it is not a subscription. Future updates to Project Timebook are included at no further cost.
The licence is for you. You may install and use Project Timebook on the computers you personally work on. You may not resell it, rent it, redistribute it, or pass your licence to another person as a way of avoiding a second purchase.
You may not decompile or reverse engineer the application, or strip out the licence check, except where the law where you live specifically allows it regardless of what a contract says.
6. Trials
A 14-day free trial is available before you buy. A trial checks in with our licence service to confirm it is still valid, so it needs an internet connection. A purchased licence does not: once Project Timebook is licensed on your machine it keeps working offline indefinitely.
7. What we do not promise
Project Timebook is provided as it is. We have built it carefully and we verify it before every release, but we cannot promise it will never encounter a bug, and we do not promise it fits a particular purpose you have in mind.
Because your data lives on your computer and we hold no copy of it, backing it up is your responsibility. If your disk fails and you have no backup, we have nothing to restore for you. That is the direct trade-off of a product that keeps no copy, and we would rather be straight with you about it.
To the extent the law allows, Lee Wyatt Corp is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Project Timebook, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for your licence.
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Project Timebook whenever you like. Deleting the application and its data directory removes everything it ever recorded, because that is where all of it was.
We may end a licence if it is being used in breach of section 5, for example if it is being redistributed. If we do that without cause, you get a refund of what you paid.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will change the effective date at the top of this page. We will not make a change that starts collecting your captured activity. That is not a policy we intend to revisit, it is the product.
